WELL CUTTINGS AND CORES
Clear space

The Ohio Geological Survey has approximately 4,300 sets of well cuttings, 225,000 feet of core, and other geological samples available for study. The samples are housed in the Survey's Horace R. Collins Laboratory, located north of Columbus in Delaware County on the grounds of Alum Creek State Park. Samples may be examined at the sample repository by appointment only. Microscopes are available if needed.

The Ohio Geological Survey always is interested in adding to its sample collection. Operators are encouraged to donate well samples and cores to increase the statewide coverage of representative samples. Saved samples and cores will be picked up if the Survey receives notification; please contact Ron Rea at 740-548-7348, ext. 25, e-mail: .

Copies of sample and core descriptions, if available, may be purchased for 25 cents per sheet.
