07/30/09 Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Sean Logan will announce the Ohio Woodlands Job Corps (OWJC) Thursday, July 30th.


Governor Strickland, ODNR Director Logan to Announce Ohio Woodlands Job Corps Thursday at Ohio State Fair

Project funded through stimulus funds will train forestry professionals, improve health of Ohio forests
 
To help restore the number of trained forestry professionals in a state that heavily relies on the forest industry, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Sean Logan will announce the Ohio Woodlands Job Corps (OWJC).
 
OWJC, which is funded through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA), will create a corps of workers with the skills and experience to find employment in the forest management and forest products industries, increase the ranks of trained wildlands firefighters, expand funding for sustainable forest management and improve the health of Ohio forests.

What:  Gov. Strickland and Director Logan will announce the formation of the Ohio Woodlands Job Corps (OWJC).

Where: The Ohio State Fairgrounds, ODNR Natural Resources Park, Buckeye Grove (adjacent to the Pavilion and Smokey).
