New Manager Named at Cleveland Lakefront State Park
Jim Seikel has 23 Years Experience in Park Management
COLUMBUS, OH – A veteran of parks and recreation management has been named the new manager of Cleveland Lakefront State Park, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Recreation. Jim Seikel assumed the position earlier this month.
Seikel has 23 years of experience in municipal park management, having worked in Wooster, Massillon, Twinsburg and Whitehall. He served as director of the park systems in Massillon, Twinsburg and Whitehall.
“After almost 24 years working primarily in northeast Ohio, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to become part of the management team at Cleveland Lakefront State Park,” said Seikel. “This park plays a vital role in offering northern Ohio’s residents the opportunity to enjoy aquatic recreational opportunities, especially during the summer months.”
Seikel earned a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration at The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in education at Cleveland State University. He resides with his family in Cuyahoga Falls.
Cleveland Lakefront State Park includes facilities at Edgewater, Gordon, Euclid Beach, Villa Angela and Wildwood parks and East 55th Street Marina. Seikel will also manage Headlands Beach State Park.
Seikel replaces Wayne Holmes who retired this summer.
