Vermilion State Scenic River Designation to be Discussed at Public Information Meeting

 
COLUMBUS, OH – A public information meeting to discuss the designation of the Vermilion River as a State Scenic River will be held on Monday, March 22 by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Watercraft.
 
The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place at the Mill Hollow Vermilion River Reservation’s Carriage Barn, which is located at 51211 N. Ridge Road in Vermilion. The meeting will begin at 7 pm.
 
The Vermilion River is being studied for inclusion in the state scenic rivers system. If designated, the Vermilion will become Ohio’s 15th state scenic river. ODNR staff, in cooperation with the Vermilion River Watershed Steering committee, will explain the Ohio Scenic Rivers Program and designation process, as well as provide opportunity for public comment.
 
The public may also provide written comments regarding the designation of the Vermilion River to ODNR Division of Watercraft, 2045 Morse Road, Bldg. A-3, Columbus, OH  43229.
