ODNR to host series of public information sessions beginning May 5
COLUMBUS, OHIO – An April 20 deadline to receive public written comments on the proposed state scenic river designation for portions of the Vermilion River in Lorain and Erie counties has been extended for an indefinite period, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The Vermilion River is being considered for designation by ODNR as Ohio’s 15th state scenic river.
ODNR will host a series of public information sessions which focuses on local landowners. The first of these Open House meetings will be held Wednesday, May 5 at 7-9 p.m. at the Lake Clubhouse. The May 5 meeting will focus on the lower 5 miles of the Vermilion River, which extends between the Riverview RV Park and Marina and Mill Hollow Reservation. Maps will be available for public review. Subsequent meetings will be held throughout the region for local citizens interested in the proposed scenic river designation.
