Paint Creek State Park to Unveil Marina Improvements
Public invited to attend ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 1
BAINBRIDGE, OH – A ribbon cutting and dedication of recently completed renovations at the Paint Creek State Park marina will take place on Thursday, July 1 at 10 a.m., according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
The project was completed this spring at a total cost of $1.6 million. Improvements for boaters include replacement of floating docks and gangways, new boat fueling and sewage pump-out systems, and a new floating concession building. Additional features for wheelchair accessibility include three accessible dock slips, accessible walkways and gangways, three designated parking spaces, and a specially equipped latrine.
“Marinas remain one of the most cost-effective investments in public lands,” said ODNR Director Sean Logan. “They expand public access, attract new tourists and tourism dollars to local economies, improve safety and comfort, and opens our natural resources for the benefit of all.”
Design services for the project were provided by Jones-Stuckey Ltd. of Columbus. The Righter Company of Columbus served as the general contractor for the project, with A.L. Miller Plumbing of Cincinnati and Whalen Electric of Morrow serving as subcontractors.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will take place near the new marina building, at the southeast end of the lake. From U.S. Route 50, turn north on Old U.S. Route 50, and follow the signs to the marina.
