Trumbull County map illustrating potential for ground water contamination now available on-line

COLUMBUS, OH – A Trumbull County ground water map designed to illustrate potential for ground water contamination from the land surface is now available on-line, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

Currently, the ODNR Division of Soil and Water Resources provides online ground water pollution potential maps for 74 Ohio counties. All of the maps and reports are viewable at www.ohiodnr.com/tabid/3541/Default.aspx

The ground water pollution potential map will be helpful to county administrators, commissioners, zoning boards, and others as they make decisions about local development and land-use activities affecting ground water quality. The report accompanying the map describes the various factors that were evaluated to determine the pollution potential ratings.

Paper copies of the map can also be purchased for $10 each plus shipping and handling.  For more information, contact Jim Raab by calling (614) 265-6747 or emailing jim.raab@dnr.state.oh.us.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR Web site at www.ohiodnr.com.
