The ODNR Division of Watercraft in coordination with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District will hold a public forum on Saturday, November 6th.

Notice of Intent to Conduct a Public Forum to Discuss Horsepower Limits on Charles Mill Lake

COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft in coordination with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) will hold a public forum on Saturday, November 6th to discuss a public request to increase the horsepower limit for boat motor engines operated on Charles Mill Lake.

Recently, a petition presented to both the Division of Watercraft and MWCD requested that the horsepower limit on the Charles Mill Lake be increased from 9.9 to 30 horsepower. Charles Mill Lake is managed by MWCD in partnership with the Division of Watercraft. Although MWCD is the agency with territorial jurisdiction, no changes related to the operation of watercraft on the lake can be implemented without the approval of the chief of the Division of Watercraft.

The public forum is scheduled for Saturday, November 6th at the Pleasant Hill Activity Center located at 3431 State Route 95 near Perrysville, Ohio from 10 am – Noon.

Comments on the proposal also may be sent in writing to Chief, ODNR Division of Watercraft, 2045 Morse Road, Building A, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
