ODNR Director David Mustine announced the appointment of William R. Damschroder as his chief legal advisor and Rene Weber as chief of the Office of Budget and Finance.
COLUMBUS, OH– Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Director David Mustine announced today the appointment of William R. Damschroder as his chief legal advisor and Rene Weber as chief of the Office of Budget and Finance.

Damschroder will provide legal support and guidance to the department’s divisions and offices. Weber will oversee the department’s fiscal operations.

“From administrative rules review to real estate law, Bill is well versed in many of the issues facing ODNR,” said Director Mustine. “His extensive knowledge and experience in both the public and private sector will be an asset to our management team.”

Damschroder spent the majority of his career in public service including 12 years with the Ohio Department of Commerce where he worked in all areas of administrative and real estate law. Most recently he served as legal counsel with Kiefner & Associates, Inc., an engineering firm, where he focused on contract administration.

Damschroder received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Ohio University, and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1988; he was admitted to the bar that same year.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Rene Weber rejoin the ODNR team,” said Mustine. “Rene spent the first 20 years of her public career serving ODNR in a variety of fiscal and accounting roles, and has spent the past several years managing the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System. She is uniquely qualified to lead the department’s fiscal staff.”

Weber first joined the department in 1987 as an account clerk; by the time she left ODNR, she was the lead fiscal officer in the Office of Budget and Finance. Since leaving ODNR she assumed the role of financial architect at the Office of Budget and Management where she supervised all aspects of the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System.

Damschroder currently resides in Franklin County and Weber is a resident of Delaware County.
