ODNR Director David Mustine announced the appointment of Joan Olivieri as his chief of the Office of Human Resources.
COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Director David Mustine announced today the appointment of Joan Olivieri as his chief of the Office of Human Resources.
Olivieri will manage the agency’s human resources, labor relations and diversity affairs programs. She will begin her duties on April 4.
“Joan has been involved in every aspect of employee and labor relations during her years in state government,” said Director Mustine. “Her extensive knowledge and experience will be an asset to ODNR’s management team.”
A longtime public servant, Olivieri has served the state of Ohio since 1994. Most recently, she held the position of chief of the Bureau of Employee Relations with the Ohio Department of Youth Services. She was responsible for managing the agency’s compliance with civil service regulations and collective bargaining agreements for nearly 1,800 permanent employees, including five juvenile correctional facilities.
Prior to that position, Olivieri served as the agency’s chief of the Bureau of Personnel Services from 2004 to 2006 and was responsible for directing the agency’s personnel program for about 2,100 permanent employees.
Before working for the Ohio Department of Youth Services, Olivieri held a number of human resource positions during the 10 years she worked at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, including payroll and benefits supervisor and personnel officer.
Olivieri received a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University and a master of public administration from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
