Governor John Kasich has reappointed Tom Pascoe of Sandusky to a five-year term on the Waterways Safety Council.
COLUMBUS, OH – Governor John Kasich has reappointed Tom Pascoe of Sandusky to a five-year term on the Waterways Safety Council, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Watercraft.
Pascoe was first appointed to the council on June 1, 1991. Earlier this year, he was reelected to another one-year term as council chairman.
A 1962 graduate of Sandusky High School, Pascoe went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration in 1967 from Otterbein College in Westerville. From 1967-1997, Pascoe was vice president and secretary of the Pascoe Insurance Agency in Sandusky. He has served his community as a part-time Erie County sheriff's deputy, a part-time police officer for the Village of Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island, and is a former Perkins Township trustee and board chairman in Erie County.
A member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1967-1972, Pascoe has remained actively involved with local conservation and boating groups, including membership in the Sandusky Charter Boat Association, the Inter Lake Yachting Association, Ducks Unlimited, and the Ohio Waterways Safety Council.
His renewed five-year term is due to expire January, 2015.
The five-member citizen advisory council, appointed by the governor, provides input to the Division of Watercraft on boating-related issues. The Waterways Safety Council will next meet April 25 at the Division of Watercraft’s Scioto County area office located in Franklin Furnace adjacent to the Greenup Lock & Dam on the Ohio River.
