Governor John R. Kasich recently announced the appointments of Clint C. Manns of Coshocton County and Eric L. Roush of Fairfield County as members of Ohio’s Forestry Advisory Council.
COLUMBUS, OH - Governor John R. Kasich recently announced the appointments of Clint C. Manns of Coshocton County and Eric L. Roush of Fairfield County as members of Ohio’s Forestry Advisory Council, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
Both Manns and Roush will serve on the council until February 27, 2015. Manns is a returning member of the council and Roush replaces Dr. Glenn Matlack of Ohio University.
The Forestry Advisory Council is an eight-member board that advises and makes recommendations concerning forestry practices and programs in the state to the chief of the ODNR Division of Forestry. Appointed by the governor, no more than four members may be of the same political party. Each term of office is four years.
“We are pleased with Governor Kasich’s appointments to the advisory council,” said Robert Boyles, chief of the ODNR Division of Forestry. “Clint is a returning member of the Forestry Advisory Council and we welcome Eric as he joins for the first time.”
Clint Manns represents the Pulp and Paper Industry on the council. He has worked with Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation Forest Resources since 1979 and now serves as the Regional Wood Procurement Manager. A member of the Society of American Foresters (SAF Certified Forester #3083), he serves on the State Implementation Committee of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative for Ohio. Manns is a past President of the Ohio Forestry Association’s Executive Committee and a past Chairman of the Ohio Tree Farm Committee. He has served on the Ohio Project Learning Tree Steering Committee Board of Trustees. Additionally, he has served as Chairman of both the Forest Resources Association Appalachian Division Policy Committee and its Forest Products Security Group. Manns has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Forest Science from the Pennsylvania State University.
Eric Roush represents Forest Soils on the council. He has been the Regional Fiber Supply and Certification Manager for Glatfelter since 2006 and has worked in the forest industry in various capacities for more than 25 years. Throughout his career he has been heavily involved with resource management on private lands as a procurement forester, providing private lands assistance, and coordinating third party certification for SFI/PEFC/FSC. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters (SAF Certified Forester #212). Roush is a past member of the Ohio Forestry Association’s Board of Directors. He has been very active on the Ohio Tree Farm Committee since 1996. He is also a past member of the Ohio Woodland Journal Editorial Board. Roush has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management from The Ohio State University.
