Hancock County resident Stephanie Miller has been honored as a Fellow by the National Society of American Foresters Council.

Hancock County resident provides urban forest management assistance to communities in 19 counties in northwestern Ohio

COLUMBUS, OH – Hancock County resident Stephanie Miller has been honored as a Fellow by the National Society of American Foresters (SAF) Council, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Forestry.

SAF Fellows must be committed to SAF volunteer activities, as well as demonstrate exemplary action, sustained leadership, and advancement of the forestry profession.

“Stephanie works hard and has built an excellent rapport with community leaders in northwestern Ohio,” said Drew Todd, urban forestry coordinator for the State of Ohio. “We are proud of Stephanie for this recognition and for her continued contributions to our division and SAF.”

“Stephanie is an outstanding urban forester and I am pleased that the National Society of American Foresters has recognized her in this way,” said Robert Boyles, chief of the Ohio Division of Forestry.

Throughout her career, Stephanie has been active with SAF and other forestry-related organizations. Stephanie has earned several awards in her career including:
  • OSAF Communicator of the Year 2004
  • Ohio ISA Award of Achievement 2007
  • OFA Outstanding Individual in Government Service 2007
  • OSAF Outstanding Member 2008
  • Arbor Day Foundation Innovation Award 2010
Stephanie works out of the ODNR Division of Forestry office in Findlay and has been a forester for the division since 1997. She has also worked as a contract utility and urban forester at ACRT Inc. out of Cuyahoga Falls. Stephanie graduated with a BS in Forestry (Urban Option) from Purdue University.
