COLUMBUS, OH – Explore the Outdoors, an Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) program, presents the 2011 Fall Color Photography Contest for students, grades 3-8. The contest begins on September 21st and ends October 26th, 2011.
Explore the Outdoors, ODNR encourages children and families to enjoy nature and experience the many benefits associated with our state’s natural resources. Young photographers are encouraged to capture the beauty of fall color through their eyes and share it with Ohioans.
Contestants may submit one photo choice with the permission of their parent or guardian and from an email account of a parent or guardian. Specific guidelines and entry forms may be found at http://exploretheoutdoorsohio.com/.
The first place winner will receive a one-night stay in a state-operated cottage. This prize will be provided to the entrant’s parent or guardian. The second place winner will receive a two-night stay in any state park campground. This prize will be provided to the entrant’s parent or guardian.
The ODNR Fall Color Web page (www.ohiodnr.com/fallcolor) provides information for travelers who want to map a scenic road trip, adventurers who are refreshed and energized by the cool autumn weather, vacationers who seek places of solace to enjoy the changing seasons, and students who need a resource for leaf collection projects. If you are looking for great ideas on getaways across the buckeye state, the Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism has numerous itinerary ideas on www.discoverohio.com under their Autumn Adventures feature. Also, visit the ODNR Facebook page to upload fall color photos, ask questions or post comments.
