Lottery Held to Select Participants for 15 Available Spaces
FINDLAY, OH - Youth interested in learning the art of fly-fishing and practicing their skills are encouraged to enter a lottery for a free youth-only clinic, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.
Fifteen spots are available for this popular hands-on program, which will be held on Friday, July 6, from 1-5 p.m. on a half-mile section of Cold Creek at the Castalia State Fish Hatchery.
Topics covered will be elementary “bugology,” nomenclature, set up and casting. In addition to fly-fishing instruction by ODNR Division of Wildlife staff and members of Clear Fork Chapter of Trout Unlimited, attendees will be able to test their newly acquired skills by fishing for the abundant rainbow trout and the occasional brown trout found in Cold Creek.
To apply, applicants must submit a postcard listing their name, date of birth, address and phone number. Each applicant must be 15 years of age or younger by the date of the clinic and be accompanied by a non-fishing adult. Postcards must be postmarked no later than June 1. No duplicate postcards may be submitted. Postcards should be sent to:
