FINDLAY, OH – The Northwest Ohio Woodland Owners are hosting a Legacy Planning Workshop to outline guidelines for woodland owners, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) Division of Forestry. The program will be held on Saturday, March 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Findlay Country Club.
“Passing farms and woodlands on to family members is a major landowner concern, especially for the baby boom generation,” said Robert Boyles, chief of ODNR’s Division of Forestry. “Estate planning is important to consider for protecting your land, learning about estate taxes and maintaining a legacy for future generations.”
The Legacy Planning Workshop is free to the public and offers landowners in northwest Ohio the opportunity to learn about what resources are available. RSVP by calling ODNR’s Division of Forestry’s Findlay office at 419-424-5004.
Thomas Weber Jr., financial executive of Pinnaclesource Financial Solutions, and John Koehler, attorney with Eastman & Smith, Ltd., will present the workshop. Weber is a woodland owner in Hancock County.
The Northwest Ohio Woodland Owners have recently joined with interested landowners from 20 northwest Ohio counties to network, host workshops and promote forest stewardship throughout Ohio.
ODNR’s Division of Forestry works to promote the wise use and sustainable management of Ohio’s public and private woodlands. To learn more about Ohio’s woodlands, visit www.ohiodnr.com/forestry.
