Wilmington Resident Chad Taylor Named to Waterways Safety Council
COLUMBUS - Chad M. Taylor, of Wilmington, recently was appointed by Governor Ted Strickland to serve a five-year term on the Ohio Waterways Safety Council, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft. Taylor replaces Lebanon resident and Cincinnati-area marine dealer Jack Hern, who in January concluded ten years of service to the advisory council.
The five-member citizen advisory council, appointed by the Governor, provides input on boating issues to the Division of Watercraft.
Taylor is vice president and general manager of Taylor Enterprises, Ltd., which does business as South Shore Marina located at CowanLake in ClintonCounty. He also is president of the Miami Valley Marine Trades Association and a member of the Southern Ohio Marine Trades Association. Since 2000, Taylor has served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve where he currently serves as a petty officer (3rd class) with the USCG Reserve Marine Safety Detachment in Cincinnati. He has been awarded numerous citations during his military service.
Taylor is joined on the Waterways Safety Council by its chairman J. Thomas Pascoe of Sandusky and fellow members Jane A. Harf of Granville, Ann Swain of East Sparta and John Onacilia Jr., of Cleveland.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR web site at www.ohiodnr.com.
