3/28/08 - Walleye Movements Studied in Sandusky River and Bay

This marks the third year the division has researched the movements of this sportfish in the Sandusky River.

The ODNR Division of Wildlife invites anglers to provide input regarding fishing regulations for Ohio's public inland lakes and reservoirs by visiting ohiodnr.com/creel on the Internet. The online angler survey solicits opinions on length and creel (daily harvest) limits for several species, including largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye and saugeye.

The artwork of a pair of common goldeneye by Hudson native Joel Rogers won first place in this year’s Ohio Wetlands Habitat Stamp Design Competition, sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Rogers’ painting will appear on the Ohio wetlands stamp issued in fall of 2009.

2/21/08 - Spring Trout Releases Provide Fishing Opportunities

Public fishing opportunities will be enhanced this spring when more than 80,000 rainbow trout, each measuring 10 to 13-inches long, are released into 45 Ohio lakes and ponds, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The releases will take place between mid March and mid-May; anglers are reminded that the daily catch limit for inland lakes is five trout.
