CENTRAL OHIOAN TAPPED AS ODNR CHIEF GENERAL COUNSEL

COLUMBUS, OH – Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Director Sean D. Logan today announced the hiring of J. Anthony Logan to serve in the role of Chief General Counsel to the Department. The role of the General Counsel is to serve as the legal advisor to the Director and to provide legal support and guidance to the various divisions and offices within the Department.

“As public interest in conservation increases, ODNR needs to assure that the quality of our programs keeps pace,” said Director Logan. “Chief Counsel Logan has exactly the expertise and experience we need to help move the Department forward.”

Chief Counsel Logan has most recently been in private practice with an emphasis on agricultural and agri-business representation in the areas of environmental, natural resources, government regulation, real estate, and debtor-creditor law.

Prior to that, he served as Assistant Director and General Counsel to the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture; Deputy Director for Legal and Legislative Affairs (Ohio Dept. of Agriculture) and as Executive Director of the Ohio Agricultural Finance Commission.

He was an Assistant Ohio Attorney General, serving in managerial and legal capacities in the Division of Crime Victims Compensation and the Division of Criminal Activities.

Anthony Logan is a graduate of The Ohio State University and the Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1978.

Anthony Logan is no relation to Director Logan. Anthony Logan will assume his duties Monday, August 13, 2007.
