20 PERCENT DISCOUNT OFFERED ON SIX VARIETIES OF SEEDLINGS
AT THE STATE TREE NURSERY
COLUMBUS, OH - Landowners can now save 20 percent on six varieties of Ohio Conservation Seedlings purchased from the state tree nursery in Marietta. The discount applies to silver maple, Norway and white spruce, arborvitae, silky dogwood and red-osier dogwood seedlings, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestry.
The last day to order tree seedlings for delivery this spring from the state tree nursery is April 14. More than 20 varieties of trees are currently available for bulk purchase, including white pine, red maple, hemlock, sugar maple, pin oak and bald cypress. Visit ohiodnr.com/forestry for seedling descriptions and availability or to place an order online.
The seedlings, available in groups of 25, are 1-to-4 years old and bare rooted. A minimum order of 100 trees is required. The Division of Forestry’s service foresters are available to help landowners in choosing the right trees. Assistance is recommended for plantings on more than three acres. Properly managed, these seedlings can eventually provide watershed protection, aesthetics, wildlife habitat and timber production. Certain tax deductions are also available to property owners who establish woodlots on their property.
ODNR’s Marietta Tree Nursery is the largest producer of tree seedlings in the state, selling more than 2 million trees each year for reforestation efforts.
