The conference provides mineral resources professionals with an opportunity to discuss current issues related to minerals extraction (coal, oil, gas, and industrial minerals), the reclamation of abandoned mine lands and the restoration of streams and aquatic resources.
Tentatively scheduled for December 2009
For more conference information, contact Beth Wilson (ODNR) at 614-265-6901.

Water Monitoring Workshop (Voinovich Center)
-
This two hour and 45 minute interactive workshop focussed on field methods of water quality monitoring in acid mine drainage impaired streams. The workshop was led by a panel of experienced water quality monitoring professionals and covered such topics as:
• developing a sampling plan for watershed characterization
• pre- and post-AMD treatment monitoring
• monitoring equipment
• quality assurance and quality control
The workshop allowed for a question and answer session on AMD monitoring techniques and issues.
Workshop was led by:
Jen Bowman - Environmental Project Manager, Ohio University's Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs
Ben McCament - Raccoon Creek Watershed Coordinator, Ohio University's Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs
