COLUMBUS, OH - Lake Erie anglers can listen to a recorded fishing report by calling toll-free 1-888 HOOK FISH (1-888-466-5347), according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Callers in the local Sandusky area should call 419-625-3187.

The report is updated every Thursday and includes fishing information from the previous few days. Information may include current hot spots, most productive fishing techniques and lures. The report also includes sizes of the major fish species being caught, including walleye, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and steelhead trout.

Catch survey data obtained from interviews with anglers at public launch ramps and marinas across the lakeshore are used to prepare the fishing reports.
