GOVERNOR TAFT APPOINTS BREMEN RESIDENT TO OHIO PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY COUNCIL

COLUMBUS, OH -- Governor Bob Taft has appointed Bremen resident Caroleta R. Colborn to the Ohio Parks & Recreation Advisory Council. Colborn will fill the unexpired term of Jean Call, who resigned. Her term runs to January 31, 2004, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

Colborn has been owner and operator of Emerald Pines Tree Farm in Bremen since 1981. In addition, she is active with the Fairfield Soil & Water Conservation District and the Fairfield Christmas Tree Growers.

Her interests include hunting, hiking and camping, as well as participating in Civil War reenactments. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ohio University.

Colborn is involved in a variety of local and state outdoor organizations, including the National Wild Turkey Federation and State of Ohio Claybusters, a sporting clays shooting group.

The seven members of the Ohio Parks & Recreation Advisory Council provide citizen and constituent input on policies and operations of Ohio State Parks. The chief of Ohio State Parks serves as the council's secretary.
