LOUDONVILLE, OH -- One of Ohio's most unique natural regions will be the backdrop for the second annual Mohican Wildlife Weekend. Parks and other outdoor educational facilities throughout the Ashland, Mansfield and Loudonville area will host the April 25-27 event.
Beginner and experienced outdoor enthusiasts alike can choose from more than 40 planned activities, celebrating wildlife habitat, heritage and natural history. Scheduled events include wildflower walks, bird identification workshops and gardening seminars. Some events are free and some require a modest fee. Wildlife weekend participants are encouraged to stay overnight in the Mohican-Malabar area in order to take advantage of both early morning and late evening activities. Lodging is available through Mohican State Park Resort at 419-994-5125 or a half-dozen other hotels and inns in the area.
