COLUMBUS, OH – Members of the Ohio State Parks’ Waterway & Construction Section were recently recognized with the 2004 “Gazelle Award” for their ability to adapt quickly to change. The award is given annually by the park system’s management team.

The Waterway & Construction team consists of: Brent Culver of Lewis Center, Bob Cumbow of Millersport, Mark Wyer of East Fultonham, Jody Holland of Chandlersville, Jim Bernosky of Athens, Kenny Smith of Piketon and Chris Brookbank of Girard.

The construction team is involved in a wide variety of state park projects, including improvements to trails, campgrounds, docks and launch ramps, beaches, and golf courses.

“This team of employees stands out as a swift and highly adaptable work unit,” said Ohio State Parks Chief Dan West. “It’s ability to drop what it is doing at a moment’s notice and respond to help its customers is a credit to Ohio State Parks.”

Ohio’s 74 state parks system includes nine resort lodges, more than 500 cottages and 56 family campgrounds with more than 9,000 campsites. For additional information visit the ohiodnr.com website.
