THREE DIVISION CHIEFS APPOINTED AT ODNR

COLUMBUS, OH - Sean D. Logan, director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), has appointed three new chiefs at the agency. Koffi Akakpo will head the Division of Budget & Finance; Derek Anderson will lead the Division of Real Estate & Land Management; and Deborah Hoffman will oversee the Division of Water. All three will be on board by May 7.

Akakpo has served as the chief academic business officer for Central State University since 2004. He directed the overall academic, fiscal and administrative operations for the university. He also served as a planning analyst for Speedway SuperAmerica, developing financial models and performing comparative and statistical analyses to support the company’s strategic plans.

"The Department of Natural Resources was fortunate to attract a number of extremely qualified and talented candidates for the chief of budget & finance position," said Logan. "Koffi was chosen for his proven track record of accomplishments and senior leadership abilities. His years of related experience are well suited for the needs of our agency.”

Anderson most recently worked for St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church and Community Property Development Corporation, where he oversaw the construction of a $3.5 million health and wellness center. He has also served as director of operations for Season of Change Intergenerational Day Center, where he managed the staff and operations of the senior day facility.

“I am very excited  to have such a high-caliber, dynamic professional like Derek join our department, ” said Logan. “Derek will be instrumental in providing department-wide planning, environmental review coordination and all real estate functions for ODNR.”

Hoffman has a background in law, obtaining her degree from Capital University. She served as building services administrator for the Columbus Department of Development from 2001 to 2005, where she supervised 150 to 180 employees. Since 2005, she has been the department’s downtown development coordinator.

“Deborah’s managerial experience and her enthusiasm for success, will serve her well at ODNR,” said Logan. “Her background in law will be a valuable asset as well.”
