NOAA Approves Routine Changes to the Ohio Coastal Management Program Document
SANDUSKY, OH - Routine changes to the Ohio Coastal Management Program document were recently approved by the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Ocean & Coastal Resource Management.
In an effort to obtain public input in this process, two public notices and open comment periods describing the proposed routine changes were provided in August 2006 and March 2007 by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Office of Coastal Management. The state received notice of NOAA’s approval of the proposed routine program changes on April 10.
This routine program change reflects on the role of the Office of Coastal Management as the central agency in implementing the coastal program in Ohio. It also reflects minor changes to the program document, including updates to laws and administrative rules, organizational changes, and updated lists of federal agencies, permits and federal financial assistance. All federal consistency certifications and determinations must be based on the revised enforceable policies approved by NOAA in this routine program change.
