OCTOBER 7 IS DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR SPECIAL GUN-SEASON
DEER HUNT AT LAWRENCE WOODS STATE NATURE PRESERVE
KENTON, OH -- A lottery drawing for a special gun-season deer hunt at Lawrence Woods State Nature Preserve in Hardin County will be held October 9, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The deadline to apply for the special hunt is October 7.
Twenty individuals will be selected for the November 27 - 29 hunt. Applicants should submit a postcard, with their name, address and telephone number, along with the caption "Lawrence Woods Hunt" on a postcard or 3-by-5 index card to the ODNR Division of Natural Areas & Preserves, 26093 County Road F, Archbold, OH 43502.
For safety reasons the preserve will be closed to the public during the special hunt.
Only one entry will be accepted per individual or hunter-pair. Applications will be accepted by mail only and must be received no later than October 7. Successful applicants will be notified by mail and will be expected to attend a pre-hunt orientation on November 25.
All ODNR Division of Wildlife regulations apply for this hunt. In addition, urban deer zone permits can be used for this hunt.
