COLUMBUS, OH Boating enthusiasts looking for information on their favorite Ohio boating destinations, or perhaps something new to explore, are encouraged to check out the Internet-based Boating Destinations Audio Tour at ohiodnr.com
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) web site highlights 35 popular boating destination waterways with downloadable audio, photographs and descriptive narratives.
“Since last year’s introduction of this unique web feature, we have continued to expand its offerings, and the response has been excellent,” said Mike Quinn, interim chief of the ODNR Division of Watercraft. “We’re proud to offer boating enthusiasts this valuable tool for planning a day on the water.”
Ohio boating destinations include: Chagrin River, CJ Brown Reservoir, Clear Fork Reservoir, Findley Lake, Hocking River, Pymatuning Reservoir, Rocky Fork Lake, Salt Fork Lake, Stillwater River and Van Buren Lake. Additionally, Lake Erie’s central and western basins, the upper and lower sections of the Ohio River and Ohio’s only designated waterway trail, the Kokosing Scenic River, also are included.
Audio tour highlights feature descriptions of boating services provided, lake-related activities such as sport fishing and wildlife viewing, boating access sites, and information on area state parks, nature preserves and forests.
