RECYCLING MARKET DEVELOPMENT GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR OHIO BUSINESSES
COLUMBUS, OH - Ohio businesses will have an opportunity to join with local solid waste management districts to improve markets for recycled materials through a grant program administered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Applications are currently available for Recycling Market Development grants of up to $150,000, designed to help Ohio industries increase the amount of recycled materials used in the manufacturing process. Each grant requires an equal match in funding from the applicant.
"Creating viable local, state and national markets for post-consumer recyclables is essential if we want recycling to succeed in our state," said Michael Canfield, chief of ODNR's Division of Recycling & Litter Prevention. According to Canfield, the division will consider a variety of grant proposals, however preference will be given to those projects that increase the use of recycled waste paper, plastic and glass in Ohio-manufactured products.
A pre-proposal is due to the division by March 1. Completed grant applications must be postmarked or submitted by May 12.
Applications are available through the Internet at: www.dnr.state.oh.us/odnr/recycling. Interested Ohio businesses and industry must work with their local solid waste management district to prepare an application.
