COLUMBUS, OH -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) reminds owners of licensed watercraft that they can renew their boat registrations with ease and convenience through an online registration system.
The ODNR Division of Watercraft last year initiated the online boat registration system to improve customer service and satisfaction. The system can be utilized 24 hours a day through June 30 by visiting the ODNR web site at www.ohiodnr.com
This online registration system is part of Governor Tafts goal to expand electronic business services provided by state government, said ODNR Director Sam Speck. It is a convenience for Ohio boaters.
Approximately 130,000 renewal notices are due to arrive this month in the mailboxes of watercraft owners across the state whose current registrations will expire on March 1. The registrations are valid for a period of three years.
Registration information that needs to be corrected or changed will still require owners to visit their local watercraft registration agent, which includes Division of Watercraft offices and some Bureau of Motor Vehicles Deputy Registrars.
Last year, Ohio had 414,825 registered watercraft according to preliminary totals.
A listing of all watercraft registration agents is available on ODNRs web site and by calling the Division of Watercraft toll-free at 1-877-4BOATER.
