COLUMBUS, OH -- Warren County resident Charlotte Lowman was recently named northeast lakeshore district preserve manager for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Natural Areas & Preserves.
In her new position, Lowman will manage nine state nature preserves in northeast Ohio, including Headlands Dunes, Mentor Marsh and Kyle Woods. Management duties include administration, maintenance, law enforcement and programming.
Lowman holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from the University of Akron. She previously served as a part-time preserve manager aide for the ODNR Division of Natural Areas & Preserves. Prior to working for ODNR, Lowman was a veterinary technician at SeaWorld Ohio for eight years.
A native of Youngstown, Lowman now resides in Newton Falls with her husband and son.
ODNR's Division of Natural Areas & Preserves manages a system of 123 state nature preserves and 20 state scenic river areas. The division's work is funded, in part, by contributions to the state income tax check-off program for natural areas and by sales of Ohio's scenic rivers license plates.
