COLUMBUS, OH - State watercraft officer Marilyn Hinderer has been promoted to area supervisor for state boating programs in west-central Ohio at the Springfield area field office in Clark County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
Hinderer has served as acting supervisor of the Springfield field office since December.
In her position as area supervisor, Hinderer will be responsible for coordinating law enforcement, boating education programs and public relations efforts in west-central Ohio. She will supervise field operations at Grand Lake St. Marys, Indian and Kiser lakes.
Hinderer joined ODNR in 1978, working for Ohio State Parks prior to becoming a watercraft officer in 1983. She resides in South Vienna with her husband, Douglas, and children Boris, Halley and Clint.
Hinderer replaces Gary Hale who recently retired from ODNR.
The ODNR Division of Watercraft administers Ohios boating programs. The division oversees boat registration and titling operations; provides funding to local communities for education, enforcement and boating facilities; educates the public and enforces boating laws on Ohios waterways.
