SAMS TO HEAD BOATING PROGRAMS IN CENTRAL OHIO

COLUMBUS, OH - Brenda Sams has been promoted to serve as regional manager in central Ohio for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft.

In her new position, Sams will be responsible for coordinating law enforcement, boating education programs and public relations efforts in central Ohio. She also will supervise field office operations in Springfield, Wapakoneta, and at Buckeye and Alum Creek lakes.

She has served as area supervisor for the division’s Portsmouth field office since 1990.

Sams is a graduate of Canal Winchester High School and Hocking Technical College. She joined ODNR in 1982 and currently resides in Wheelersburg.

The ODNR Division of Watercraft administers Ohio’s boating programs. The division oversees boat registration and titling operations; provides funding to local communities for education; enforcement and boating facilities; educates the public and enforces boating laws on Ohio’s waterways.
