SIMONETTI TO HEAD STATE BOATING PROGRAMS IN AKRON AREA

COLUMBUS, OH - Larry Simonetti has been named state boating administrator for northeast Ohio, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Simonetti most recently served in a similar capacity in Cleveland for the state’s Lake Erie region and previously was the area supervisor for the ODNR Division of Watercraft district office in Akron.

In his position as regional manager, Simonetti is responsible for coordinating law enforcement, education and public relations efforts for the greater Akron area and northeast Ohio. He also supervises watercraft field office operations in Cambridge, New Falls and New Philadelphia.

Simonetti, 54, has been employed with the ODNR Division of Watercraft for 31 years. He has served as Lake Erie regional manager since September 2001, and before that as Akron-area supervisor.

The ODNR Division of Watercraft administers Ohio’s boating program. The division oversees boat registration and titling operations, provides funding to local communities for education, enforcement and boating facilities, educates the public and enforces boating laws on Ohio’s waterways.
