MORE WATERWAYS ADDED TO INTERNET-BASED
OHIO BOATING DESTINATIONS AUDIO TOUR

COLUMBUS, OH - Nine Ohio lakes and rivers have joined the Boating Destinations Audio Tour available through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) website at ohiodnr.com. The additions bring to 35 the number of popular boating waterways that web users can learn more about through the site.

The newly added boating destinations include the Chagrin River, C.J. Brown Reservoir, Clear Fork Reservoir, Findley Lake, Hocking River, Pymatuning Reservoir, Rocky Fork Lake, Stillwater River and Van Buren Lake. They join the original 26 boating destinations on the tour: Acton Lake, Alum Creek Lake, Berlin Reservoir, Big & Little Darby Creeks, Buckeye Lake, Burr Oak Lake, Caesar Creek Lake, Deer Creek Lake, Delaware Lake, East Fork Lake, Grand Lake St. Marys, Grand River, Indian Lake, Kokosing River, Lake Erie (Western Basin, Central Basin), Lake Loramie, Little Miami River, Maumee River, Mosquito Creek Lake, Muskingum River, Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District Lakes, Ohio River (Southeast Ohio, Southwest Ohio), Lake Vesuvius and West Branch Reservoir.

Launched in April, the web-based audio tours assist boaters in selecting a waterway that meets their needs. Among other things, listeners will hear overviews of various boating destinations on Lake Erie, the Ohio River and some of Ohio’s more popular inland waterways.

“We are pleased with the positive feedback received by boaters who say the Internet audio tours are handy resources for planning their boating excursions,” said Ken Alvey, chief of the ODNR Division of Watercraft. “Overtime, we will continue adding waterways to this unique Internet web page.”

Each stop on the audio tour provides a general description of what boating services are provided, other lake-related activities that include sport fishing and wildlife viewing, plus additional information on boating access sites and information on state parks that may be located adjacent to some waterways.
