HIT THE BEACH AND ENJOY THE FIREWORKS THIS FOURTH OF JULY
Fireworks displays offered at selected Ohio State Parks throughout the state

COLUMBUS, OH - Hear the Kaboom! and Bang! of fireworks this Fourth of July weekend from the comfort of a beach blanket as several Ohio State Parks host Independence Day celebrations.

“We encourage families to come out for the variety of day time activities being offered at Ohio State Parks this holiday and then stay out for the night time display of fireworks,” said Dan West, chief of Ohio State Parks.

Fourth of July fireworks events this weekend include:

“Beach Spectacular and Fireworks” at Indian Lake State Park (Logan County) - Saturday, July 2 at Old Field Beach. This daylong celebration features beach games and contests, entertainment, food, classic car displays and fireworks over the lake. For information call 937-843-2717.

“Fourth of July Festivities” at Portage Lakes State Park (Summit County) - Saturday, July 2 through Monday, July 4. Enjoy an antique and classic boat show, a boat parade, family activities on the beach and fireworks on Sunday, July 3. For information call 330-644-2220.

“Third Annual Fireworks Extravaganza” at Hueston Woods State Park (Butler/Preble counties) - Tuesday, July 5. Enjoy food, activities and entertainment over the weekend with a fireworks display over Acton Lake on Tuesday, July 5. For information call 513-523-6347.

Additional community firework displays are taking place on Sunday, July 3 at Buckeye Lake State Park (Fairfield County) and Monday, July 4 at Mosquito Lake State Park (Trumbull County).
