PUBLIC INPUT SOUGHT FOR UPDATING STATEWIDE
COMPREHENSIVE OUTDOOR RECREATION PLAN

COLUMBUS, OH -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is currently seeking public input in order to update Ohio’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP). A public meeting is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 15 at Highbanks Metro Park on U.S. 23 in Lewis Center in order to gather information from Ohio residents for the update.

Attendees are encouraged to express their views on participation, issues, challenges and trends in Ohio’s outdoor recreation.

The Ohio SCORP maintains Ohio’s eligibility to receive and award federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) monies. The updated SCORP will establish Ohio’s outdoor recreation strategies and funding priorities for the next five years. ODNR will complete a final draft of the 2008 SCORP in late 2007.
