COLUMBUS, OH - David Hanselmann, a Lewis Center resident, has been appointed to head the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Soil & Water Conservation.
Hanselmann is a 25-year ODNR veteran, serving the last 20 years as assistant chief of the Division of Soil & Water Conservation. His appointment, to be effective March 17, was announced by ODNR Director Sam Speck.
In his new role as chief, Hanselmann will lead a team of 60 employees and administer more than $15 million annually. The ODNR division provides technical and grant assistance to the states 88 soil and water conservation districts for pollution abatement, conservation education, watershed protection and management, soil inventory, and conservation engineering measures.
Hanselmann holds a bachelors degree in biology from Purdue and a masters degree in ecology from Duke University. He, and his wife, Yvette, have two children, Claire and Alex.
