COLUMBUS, OH - Ronald L. Kolbash, of Canal Winchester, has been named chief of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Recycling & Litter Prevention. The division coordinates statewide waste reduction, recycling, recycling market development and litter prevention.
The 34-employee division distributes more than $7 million annually in grants to local Ohio communities for recycling, litter prevention and the development of markets for recycled-content products.
Kolbash joined ODNR in 1999 as deputy director for resource conservation after a 20-year career in environmental issues management with American Electric Power (AEP) and the Ohio Coal Association. He is also a part-time faculty member at Hocking College and Ohio University at Lancaster.
Kolbash holds a masters degree in ecology from Eastern Michigan University and a doctorate in environmental resource management from Michigan State University. He and his wife, Peggy, live in Canal Winchester, Ohio. They have two sons, Ronn and Chris.
