MAKE MOM’S DAY MEMORABLE WITH A VISIT TO AN OHIO STATE PARK RESORT
All nine resort lodges offering Mother’s Day specials on May 14

COLUMBUS, OH - Ohio State Parks nine resorts are celebrating Mothers’ Day with dining or lodging specials that give mom the pampering she deserves.

Whether it’s a getaway weekend or brunch with the family, each Ohio State Park resort lodge offers a variety of amenities and dining choices in some of the state’s most picturesque settings.

“We invite moms to relax and let our experienced chefs do all the cooking this Mother’s Day,” said Dan West, Ohio State Parks chief. “There’s no better place to celebrate this special day than in one of our full-service resort lodges.”

The resort lodge at Mohican State Park in Ashland County is offering a weekend round of activities, May 12-14. Moms can enjoy “movie and a snack” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12, and at 6 and 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, in the lodge’s Malabar Room. There is no charge for the feature-length movie and a box of popcorn.

The lodge dining room will host a traditional Mothers’ Day brunch from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 14. Cost is $21.95 for adults; $19.75 for seniors; and $9.95 for children age 5-12. Reservations are requested at 419-938-5411.

Carriage rides and a special craft session will highlight Mothers’ Day at the lodge and conference center at Geneva State Park in Ashtabula County. The carriage rides will be offered from 10 a.m. until noon, with the craft session beginning at 1 p.m. Rides are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

A special brunch will be served in the main dining room from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $26.95 for adults; $24.95 for seniors and $12.95 for children under age 12. Reservations are encouraged at 440-466-7100.

Moms who spend the Mothers’ Day weekend in the lodge at Maumee Bay State Park in Lucas County will receive a one-hour massage, $20 in spa products, wine and chocolate-covered strawberries in the room and a $25 restaurant gift certificate. The two-night stay, including all amenities, is $389 plus tax for two people.

The Mothers’ Day weekend package at Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County includes two nights of lodging, dinner for two and a Mothers’ Day buffet for two. Cost is $309 plus tax in a standard room for two; $329 for a double room with additional bunk beds and $349 for a standard cabin. For reservations, call 740-439-2751.

Shawnee State Park in Scioto County is offering one night of lodging in a double room, a Mothers’ Day buffet for two in the main dining room and a $10 gift certificate for the lodge gift shop. The package is $129 plus tax. Cost for the buffet alone is $19.95 for adults, $17.94 for seniors and $8.95 for children age 12 and under. Call 740-858-6621 for reservations.

The Mothers’ Day package at Burr Oak State Park in Morgan County offers two nights of lodging for two people, breakfast for two and two Mothers’ Day buffets for $265 plus tax. The buffet, served noon to 4 p.m. in the main dining room, is $14.95 for adults and $7.95 for children 10 and under. Call 740-767-2112 for reservations.

The lodge at Hueston Woods State Park in Preble County will serve a Mothers’ Day buffet from noon to 7 p.m. on May 14 in the main dining room. Cost is $18.95 for adults; $9.95 for children 6 to 12; and $6.95 for children 3 to 5. Call 513-523-6381 for reservations

Punderson Manor at Punderson State Park in Geauga County will serve a buffet from noon to 6 p.m. on May 14. Cost is $24.95 for adults; $22.95 for seniors; and $9.95 for children 5 to 12. Call 440-564-9144 for reservations.

Deer Creek Resort & Conference Center at Deer Creek State Park in Pickaway County offers a special Mothers’ Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the main dining room. Cost is $24.95 for adults; $22.95 for seniors and $18.95 for children ages 11 to 16. Children under age 11 eat free. Call 1-740-869-2020 for reservations.

Ohio State Parks is home to nine resort lodges, more than 500 family cottages and 56 family campgrounds with more than 9,000 campsites.
