Web page now linked to Google Earth for added convenience
COLUMBUS, OH - Boaters looking for information on a favorite Ohio boating destination, or perhaps something new to explore, are encouraged to check out the Boating Destinations Audio Tour on the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft Web page.
A new feature of the tour is a link to Google Earth that includes an overlay of Ohio's boating access facilities. Using this link, boaters can readily locate these facilities and obtain associated driving directions.
The popular Boating Destinations Audio Tour was created to highlight 35 popular boating waterways with downloadable audio narratives and directions to those locations.
Boating destinations included on this unique audio tour include the Chagrin River, C.J. Brown Reservoir, Clear Fork Reservoir, Findley Lake, Hocking River, Pymatuning Reservoir, Rocky Fork Lake, Salt Fork Lake, Stillwater River and Van Buren Lake.
Lake Erie's central and western basins are also profiled, in addition to the upper and lower sections of the Ohio River. The state's two designated Ohio Water Trails - the Kokosing and Muskingum rivers - are also featured.
Audio tour highlights include descriptions of boating services provided, lake-related activities such as sport fishing and wildlife viewing, boating access sites and information on area state parks, nature preserves and forests.
