SELECTED OHIO STATE PARKS OFFERING COTTAGE SPECIALS
DURING FALL AND WINTER MONTHS
Two-night cottage stays earn free extra nights in eight parks

COLUMBUS, OH -- There are plenty of reasons for outdoor enthusiasts to visit an Ohio State Park cottage this fall and winter, including the "Nature Lovers Special" that provides bonus nights with two-night stays in selected parks.

“Staying at a state park cottage in the off-season makes for a great getaway,” said Dan West, Ohio State Parks chief. “Fewer visitors, peaceful surroundings and our new 'Nature Lovers Special' make stays especially appealing in the fall and winter.”

Visitors planning a special winter break can look for savings at these state park cottages:

Buck Creek State Park in Clark County, Hocking Hills State Park in Hocking County and Pike Lake State Park in Pike County offer weekday specials, four nights for the price of two, Sunday through Thursday, from January 1 until April 30. In addition, all three offer one free night (either Thursday or Sunday) with Friday and Saturday night stays during the same period.

Pymatuning State Park in Ashtabula County is currently offering both the weekday and weekend Nature Lovers Specials and will do so until February 28.

Cowan Lake State Park in Clinton County is offering the weekday Nature Lovers Special until April 30, as well as additional price breaks for single or multiple-night stays in family cottages on any day of the week from December 1 through March 15.

Dillon State Park in Muskingum County and Lake Hope State Park in Vinton County are offering four nights for the price of two, Sunday through Thursday, from January 1 until March 31. Mohican State Park in Ashland County is offering that same weekday special until April 30.

Each fully furnished Ohio State Parks cottage is a complete home away from home. Each has two bedrooms and provides sleeping space for a family of six. Each has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave; bathroom with a shower; and a living room with television and sleep sofa. Dishes, cookware, utensils and linens are provided. Most locations also offer gas-log fireplaces and cable television hookups.

Nature Lovers Specials are subject to availability and cannot be used with other promotions or discounts.

A gift certificate for a stay in an Ohio State Park cottage makes holiday shopping easy. Gift certificates are available through any state park office; or from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) central office at 1-614-265-6513.
