COLUMBUS, OH -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) salutes the men and women currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the reserves and the National Guard, with a 10 percent discount on all types of lodging available at Ohio State Parks.
Our Ohio State Parks Salute The Troops special is one way of saying 'thank you' to active members of the military for their service and dedication in these difficult times, said ODNR Director Sam Speck. The discount is designed to help these individuals enjoy time with their families in the tranquil, natural settings that our state parks offer.
By presenting their current military identification, active members of the military will receive 10 percent off all lodge, cottage and campground stays, except on holidays. Salute The Troops will run through the end of 2002 and cannot be used in combination with other lodging discounts.
Ohio's 73 state parks offer a variety of year-round recreational opportunities. Eight parks feature resort lodges, complete with full-service dining rooms, indoor pools and lounges. Six have 18-hole golf courses. There are more than 500 rental cottages and 57 campgrounds with more than 9,000 campsites in the system.
