WATERCRAFT OFFICERS HONORED WITH LIFE-SAVING AWARDS

COLUMBUS, OH - State watercraft officers Eric Reed of Columbus and Andrew Hollenback of Mt. Vernon have each received Life-Saving Awards from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft. Both are assigned to the Alum Creek Lake field office in Delaware County and have been state watercraft officers for more than two years.

The award recognizes the officers’ successful efforts on April 16 in helping save the life of a heart attack victim near Alum Creek State Park.

“Our watercraft officers are trained in handling various emergencies. The actions of officers Reed and Hollenback significantly contributed to sustaining the life of the victim,” said Ken Alvey, chief of the ODNR Division of Watercraft.
