OHIO STATE PARK RESORT LODGES ARE COOKIN’ THIS THANKSGIVING!
Some lodges offering packages that include both lodging and holiday feast
Spend the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday at an Ohio State Park resort lodge and leave the meal preparation to hospitality experts. Each of the nine state park resort lodges is offering a Thanksgiving Day buffet, and several are offering packages that include special room rates along with the meal, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
Burr Oak Resort and Conference Center (Athens and Morgan counties) - The Thanksgiving package, valid Wednesday, November 23 through Friday, November 25, includes three nights of lodging for two people in a standard room and dinner for two at the Thanksgiving Day buffet for $215, tax included.
Thanksgiving Day buffet served in the lodge dining room from noon to 4 p.m. includes oven-roasted turkey, baked steak and glazed ham, salad bar, traditional side dishes and desserts. Price: adults, $14.95; children age 4-12, $7.95. Children age 3 and under eat free.
Deer Creek Resort and Conference Center (Fayette and Pickaway counties) - The Thanksgiving at Deer Creek package, valid Wednesday, November 23, through Friday, November 25, includes two nights’ lodging for two people in a standard room, ice-cream social on Wednesday evening, continental breakfasts on Thanksgiving morning, buffet dinner for two, and a football game party on Friday morning. Price is $299 per couple, plus tax.
Thanksgiving Day buffet in the lodge dining room, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes a traditional holiday meal with all the trimmings. Price: $26.95 for adults; $22.95 for seniors; $7.95 for children age 10 and under.
Maumee Bay Resort and Conference Center (Lucas County) offers its seasonal “bed and breakfast” package for the Thanksgiving weekend. A standard room for two people on Wednesday or Thursday night is $88 per night, plus tax; the same room for Friday and Saturday night is $99 per night, plus tax.
Thanksgiving Day buffet is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main dining room and includes all the traditional holiday fare. Prices: adults $22.95; seniors, $19.95; children 4-12, $8.95. Children under age 4 eat free.
Salt Fork Resort and Conference Center (Guernsey County) -The Thanksgiving Package, valid Wednesday, November 23 through Saturday, November 26, includes three nights of lodging, Thanksgiving Day buffet for two, two breakfasts and a gift shop certificate. The lodge will host a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Price: $479, plus tax per couple in a double or king room.
A Thanksgiving Day buffet will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Timbers Dining Room. Prices: adults, $19.95; children 4-12, $9.95. Children under age 4 eat free. Reservations are required at 740-439-2751.
Geneva Lodge and Conference Center (Ashtabula County) is offering a “Home for the Holidays” package that includes one night’s accommodations and breakfast for two at $99, plus tax.
A Thanksgiving Day buffet will be served in the main dining room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prices: adults, $21.95; seniors, $18.95; children age 4-12, $11.95. Children age 3 and under eat free.
Punderson Manor House (Geauga County) will serve its Thanksgiving Day buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the main dining room. Reservations are required at 440-564-9144. Prices: adults, $24.95; seniors, $22.95; children age 4-11, $9.95. Children age 3 and under eat free. Manor rooms are available for the holiday period, beginning at $90 for two people in a double room. Family cottages are also available beginning at $115 per day.
Mohican Resort and Conference Center (Ashland County) will host a Thanksgiving Day buffet in the main dining room from noon to 4:30 p.m. Prices: adults, $21.95; seniors, $19.75; children 6-12, $9.95. Children age 5 and under eat free. A limited number of lodge rooms are still available for Thanksgiving night, beginning at $109 for two people in double room.
Hueston Woods Resort and Conference Center (Butler and Preble counties) - The Thanksgiving Day buffet is served from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 24, in the dining room and features a traditional holiday meal. Prices: adults, $18.95; children ages 6-12, $9.95, 3-5, $6.95. Children age 2 and under eat free. Resort rooms are sold out for the holiday.
Shawnee Lodge and Conference Center (Scioto County) will offer a Thanksgiving Day buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main dining room. Prices: adults, $16.95; seniors, $15.25; children 5-10, $7.95; children 4 and under, $2.95. All lodge and cottage rooms are sold out for the holiday.
