CUYAHOGA COUNTY RESIDENT NAMED
CENTRAL OHIO SCENIC RIVER COORDINATOR

COLUMBUS, OH -- Cuyahoga County resident Tim Peterkoski was recently named Central Ohio Scenic River Coordinator for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Natural Areas & Preserves.

In his new position, Peterkoski will work with local governments, developers and citizens to maintain the health of the Big Darby Creek in Union, Madison, Franklin and Pickaway counties, the Olentangy River in Delaware and Franklin counties and the Kokosing River in Morrow, Knox and Coshocton counties. Additionally, Peterkoski will promote flood and erosion control methods along those river corridors.

Peterkoski spent the last two years working for ODNR's divisions of Parks & Recreation and Natural Areas & Preserves, first as a conservation aide, and later as a naturalist at Kelley's Island State Park.

Peterkoski holds a bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace College.

A native of Berea, Peterkoski now lives in Columbus.

ODNR's Division of Natural Areas & Preserves manages a system of 123 state nature preserves and 20 state scenic river segments. The division's work is funded, in part, by contributions to the state income tax check-off program for natural areas and by sales of Ohio's commemorative scenic rivers license plates.
