OHIO BOATING CONFERENCE CONVENES AT DEER CREEK OCT. 22-26

COLUMBUS, OH -- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Watercraft is hosting Confluence 2001: A Boating Odyssey, at Deer Creek State Park near Mt. Sterling October 22-26.

Boating professionals representing education, enforcement and industry will draw upon each others expertise to carefully plan the future of Ohios boating programs,” said Jeff Hoedt, chief of the ODNR Division of Watercraft.

Attendees will examine critical law enforcement issues, preview new programs addressing special needs of boaters, receive updates about current boating issues and view displays featuring cutting edge technology within the industry.

The ODNR Division of Watercraft will also honor outstanding boating programs and volunteers during a special awards ceremony held during the conference.

As part of Confluence 2001, a strategic issues public meeting will be held October 23 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss issues of concern to boaters.
