COLUMBUS, OH -- Plain City resident Julie McQuade has been elected to serve as vice-president of the States Organization For Boating Access (SOBA), according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). McQuade, a 17-year state employee, is the capital improvements coordinator for the ODNR Division of Watercraft.
She served on SOBA's executive board last year and was the organizations annual conference planning coordinator. Her election to vice-president came during the organization's annual conference held recently in Erie, Pennsylvania. She succeeds James Duke of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources in the position.
SOBA was formed in 1986 as a nonprofit organization committed to the acquisition, development and administration of public recreational boating facilities nationwide. Membership is open to each of the 50 states and all U.S. territories, as well as various consultants, engineering firms, manufacturers, suppliers, publishers and other marine interests.
