ODNR ACCEPTING TAKE PRIDE, OHIO! AWARD NOMINATIONS

COLUMBUS, OH - Nominations are now being accepted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) for the Take Pride, Ohio! awards program. The awards recognize individuals, public agencies, businesses, media outlets and organizations who have demonstrated an environmental commitment in the areas of recycling, litter prevention and/or beautification. Take Pride, Ohio! applications will be accepted through December 10 for three award categories, including Recycle, Ohio!, Keep Ohio Beautiful and Outstanding Educator awards.

Recycle, Ohio! awards recognize recycling programs that divert recyclable materials from Ohio's waste stream, showcase successful community recycling programs and promote recycled content products.

Keep Ohio Beautiful awards are given to individuals, community groups, business and industry, youth groups and Keep Ohio Beautiful communities for litter prevention and beautification activities.

The Outstanding Educator award honors an Ohio educator who has greatly contributed to environmental education efforts and whose work continues to strengthen local recycling and litter prevention activities.

All nominations will be competitively judged by a panel comprised of solid waste and litter prevention professionals from across Ohio. Award recipients will be honored at a ceremony next April in Columbus.
